She might have acquired it, uh, sometime in the '50s or '60s.
She was actually, uh, training to become a potter.
APPRAISER: So I believe this is a piece that was made by Marguerite Wildenhain at Pond Farm.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: Marguerite was a teacher.
She became a master potter.
And she was one of the very first women master potters.
She was Jewish and she left Europe in 1940... GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: ...to come to the United States.
So this is really one of the better pieces of Pond Farm that I've seen.
GUEST: Oh, wow.
APPRAISER: I like this a lot.
It's very nicely, evenly thrown.
It's a lovely piece.
In an auction, I would probably put a pre-sale estimate of $1,000 to $1,500.
GUEST: Oh, wow-- oh, fantastic.
