About the Show
KERA, North Texas Public Television, and Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas present “Celebrate and Sing! Glory to the Newborn King!”
This spectacular Christmas concert of secular and sacred music is under the direction of Steven R. Jobman and performed by the church’s renowned 150-voice Sanctuary Choir, orchestra and Organist/Artist-in-Residence, Bradley Hunter Welch.
The program also features handbells ringing “Carol of the Bells,” an organ transcription of “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," and bagpipes playing the beloved “Highland Cathedral.” The popular “God Bless Us, Everyone” from the animated Disney film “A Christmas Carol,” made famous by Andrea Bocelli, is a highlight of the production. A vocal jazz ensemble is also featured.
Traditional favorites included in the 60-minute program include “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain.” Composers highlighted include John Rutter, Mack Wilberg, Will Todd and Ryan Murphy.
