On June 23, 2005, Sergeant Sally Saalman-Mosby survived the attack in Fallujah that killed three American Marine women. To this day, the attack is one of the worst disasters to ever to hit U.S. women in uniform. Saalman was sent to San Antonio to treat her burns and to her surprise, those from her hometown in Southern Indiana showed their support to her and her family.
